I saw her in SPAZ’s calendar, just like all the other “stars,” and I fell in love with her instantly…

My brother, who has also adopted his own little dog from SPAZ, asked if she was available.
We met her with my children at a square where SPAZ organizes adoption meetups, and I absolutely adored her from the very first moment…

The first thing I said to her when I approached her was:
“Do you want to come home with me and be a family?”
And she looked at me with the most tender eyes.

Everything else was simply a matter of time and willingness.

She bonded almost instantly with my younger son from that very day. My husband, however, had his reservations: she was a big dog… and still a puppy…

With the help of SPAZ volunteers, we arranged several meetings: with my husband, with our other dog — a male Maltese — and even a visit to our home.
Slowly but steadily, with consistency, Sylia became closer and closer to our family. We are truly grateful to the entire SPAZ team for this.
Now, one year later, she is an inseparable member of our home!

With the help of our trainer, we learned how to go for walks, set boundaries both inside and outside the house, socialize, and play!

After all, besides being beautiful, she is incredibly smart, calm, and simply unique!

She looks after my eldest daughter, who has a disability, as if she were her own sister…

It’s amazing how she gives and receives love from each one of us — we are six people — in a unique way for each individual.

It’s also incredible how much understanding, respect, and care our two dogs show each other, even though they are so different!

Adoption, like any meaningful commitment, comes with its challenges, but also with moments of indescribable happiness. It is something that should be approached with maturity.

Especially when it comes to dogs, it is worth giving a stray dog a chance — no matter how big — to change your life. Because it truly will!

In closing, one more big WELL DONE and a huge THANK YOU to the people of SPAZ who tirelessly support this cause.
